Perseverance

Perseverance

Strategically situated midway between Gqeberha and Kariega, the Perseverance cluster offers a prime location for businesses to thrive. Encompassing the 2.5 square kilometer Perseverance Industrial Precinct, this hub is home to a diverse range of companies, from large corporates such as the Spar Distribution Center and Borbet SA to small local businesses operating in various sectors such as automotive component manufacturing, food and beverage distribution, engineering, construction, transport, and logistics.

With over 46 companies and 10,000 employees, the cluster makes a significant contribution to Nelson Mandela Bay’s economy. Its proximity to labour resources from surrounding townships, including KwaMagxaki, KwaDwesi, Zwide, and Motherwell, adds to its appeal.

The formation of the cluster has brought businesses together to address common challenges and through collaborative efforts, businesses have successfully improved energy security in the area, mitigating the risks associated with substation vandalism, a problem that had previously affected the region. This collaborative approach has paved the way for future initiatives, aimed at driving investment retention, showcasing business resilience and fostering a thriving industrial ecosystem.
