The Fairview Cluster is a buzzing hub of development, with a wide variety of businesses, including software development, engineering, internet services, restaurants and logistics. Companies like Maritime Motors Group, Wirk, and S4 have thrived in the region, capitalising on its robust development and industrialisation opportunities. Enjoy the area’s good condition, flexibility and privately owned businesses, allowing for quick responses to changing conditions.

The Fairview Cluster represents a collective effort by local businesses in the area to create a thriving working environment. Established under the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, it is the ninth cluster formed to address shared enabling environment issues and to foster collaboration among businesses.

To initiate the defining process for their vision and strategic priorities, the Fairview Cluster has formed an interim committee comprised of representatives from various local businesses, including Nico Claassen from Wirk, Gideon Smith from S4 Integration, and Denise van Huyssteen, the Chamber’s CEO. This committee serves as a volunteer-driven structure that will work under the guidance of the Chamber’s leadership to establish a compliant legal framework for the Cluster’s operations.

S4 Integration has been a key advocate for establishing the cluster in Fairview, consulting extensively with local businesses to understand their needs. Gideon Smith, the Marketing Manager of S4 Integration, highlights the substantial investments the company has made in Fairview, recognizing the area as an emerging business hub. The primary objective of the cluster is to contribute actively to the development of Fairview by emphasizing cleanliness, safety, and community pride.

Local businesses are facing challenges such as inadequate road maintenance and illegal dumping, which the cluster aims to address by focusing on manageable initial tasks. Smith believes that tackling these visible issues will not only improve the area’s perception but also inspire further initiatives for enhancement.

Denise van Huyssteen emphasizes that the success of the Fairview Cluster hinges on adopting a clear vision, mission, and strategic plan, along with a timeline for implementing key initiatives. The collaborative spirit of Nelson Mandela Bay’s business community is highlighted as a unique strength, showcasing their commitment to collective action for the local economy’s benefit.

The Fairview Cluster aims to harness this spirit to transform the area into a clean, safe, and prosperous destination that residents and businesses can take pride in, reinforcing the belief that the region is a Bay of opportunity.
